FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Beau Monde Society Presents
Fashion Envie’s Midsummer Jungle on April 20th, 2013
New York City, NY – April 1, 2013
On April 20th, 2013, Beau Monde Society will be ushering in a F.U.N perspective of looking at fashion and art as it pertains to the environment. Fashion Envie is a sustainable platform for emerging eco-friendly designers and artists to showcase their work at New York City’s Space on White in the spirit of Earth Week. Fashion Envie is the brainchild of Beau Monde Society’s founder, Jennifer Nnamani and, in essence, means Fashion, Environment, and Life. The event will be an artistic and creative outlet for Gen X, as well as future generations to imagine a world that is ethical in their approach to fashion and other social issues. Fashion Envie’s main goal is to rebrand the concept of eco-friendly fashion as a F.U.N (Fashion Understanding Nature) medium to engage in a sustainable dialogue.
Fashion Envie is designed to be an answer to what to wear, how to wear it, and where to shop from an eco-conscious standpoint. The mission of Fashion Envie is to showcase inspiring and innovative ways to be eco-friendly; either by recycling, upcycling, and precycling. Beau Monde Society has aligned its cause with Skraptacular, a nonprofit organization that aims to inspire environmental awareness by working with children and communities to transform “trash” into art and science. The event will also be supporting local and eco-friendly brands, designers, and artists that pride themselves on infusing sustainable practices into their collections and artworks. In short, Fashion Envie‘s goal is to rebrand the idea of eco-friendly–the importance of putting our best green foot forward, and in turn, placing a FUN emphasis on saving our planet.
About the Ecoventure:
Fashion Envie will feature an art reception followed by a non-traditional fashion show true to its launching theme–Midsummer Jungle. The space will be transformed using flowers, natural decorative accents, and music to bring to life the likeness of a jungle. The ecoventure, as it is often referred to by its Creator, will be well-attended by fashion bloggers, eco-conscious minds, as well as those new to the concept of Green fashion. Guests will be enthralled with a few surprises, delicious vegan snacks, sponsored by Lael Cakes and Alvohns Custom Pastries and non-alcoholic beverage provided by Vita Coco Coconut Water. The event will showcase artwork by Ian Chapman and Dominick Williams, as well as designs by Amy Decew, Tamara Leacock for ReciclaGEM NY, Jessica White for JWhite, Eunika Simmons for The Naked Roots Collection, and Elizabeth Azadi as part of the runway show. Fashion Envie is also proudly sponsored by One With Nature, Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, and La Perle Noire LLC, Amauri Hair Growth Products, and Michael Allen Pastry. A silent auction will be held to raise proceeds to benefit Skraptacular in their efforts to promote sustainability. The tickets are $5 for general admission and $15 for VIP.
